I helped a news organization with its Twitter feed for the State of the Union address this week.

The company had the youthful SoMe expertise, and needed the news savvy to go with it. I rarely participate in social media – but I know a good story or an attention-grabbing quote when I see it.

Together, it was a good pairing – and if you’re a news junkie like me, a fun way to spend an evening.

A Culinary Throwback: Tuna Tempties

When she was visiting for the holidays, I asked my sister if there are any foods she misses since becoming a vegetarian at least 20 years ago.

She didn't skip a beat. “Tuna Tempties,” she said with a sigh.

A Holiday Workhorse

Like many folks, I've spent much of the last few weeks cooking and baking.

It's been a wild culinary ride, from a cranberry-wild rice salad for a potluck, to giant batches of Greek pastries for an annual church fundraiser, to tacos – the traditional Thomas family Christmas dinner.
